坐月飲食療養: 法國廊酒Benedictine D.O.M.

這個星期,媽媽的馬來西亞朋友帶她買了一瓶法國廊酒.
 
什麼是廊酒?

法國廊酒, 芳香濃郁, 以葡萄蒸餾酒做基酒,用27種草藥調香,其中有當歸、鼻血草、鐵線蕨、丁香、肉豆蔻、沒藥、肉桂、番紅花等,再摻兌糖液和蜂蜜, 需要兩年才能釀製出廠. 因廊酒含有蜂蜜成分, 酒帶甜味, 是產婦坐月的絕妙滋補養生佳釀.



廊酒燉黑雞湯 (2人用, 睡前最好喝)

配料: 黑雞約300克, 廊酒150毫升, 水150毫升, 杞子50克, 一些生薑
做法: 雞洗淨, 切成片, 去皮. 將雞和其他成分為雙鍋爐, 關閉蓋子, 燉3小時.

Baby Toiletries - Weleda

There are many debates on what baby toiletries to use on those silky baby skin. Most parents prefer the big household brand Johnson's & Johnson's, some organic parents go for California Baby, some parents pick Mustela.

Initially, my preference is SebaMed 5.5 because I have sensitive skin and have been using it since I was a kid. However, not all SebaMed products works for me. I like their shower gel, face cream and lotion, but not the shampoo and the entire acne line. Couple years ago, I started to use Weleda Wild Rose face cream and I totally felt in love with it. Besides the face cream, the skin food hand cream and shower gel are wonderful as well. Their products smell good and keep my skin baby soft. Thus, their product made in Germany. Oh, Germany has very high standards on organic and natural products. Here I am, Weleda for my baby girl.

With the current sales at a local Health Store(~$2-3off) and the Weleda's online coupon($2off, good til Dec), I got a really good deal. I bought 10 Hair and Body Wash and 3 Cream Bath...really stocking up my baby toiletries. :)

Travel Light = Simple Life

This week sermon is 'Travel Light, Think Right, Talk Straight" on Mark 6:7-13.

Um...Travel light, am I? Properly not. I always try to pack light, but usually find at least three or four pieces of fresh clothes at the end of my trips. I guess if I have this issue during travel, I have the same problem at home and in my life.

You know I am having a baby girl and it's fun to shop for those lovely girl clothes. You properly know that I did say that I have bought way more than enough clothes for her. I feel guilty. I know it's my first child and most mommies committed the same mistake. My issue is not just about spoiling her, I may set myself up for "owning" her instead of "looking after" her. The more love I pour for her, the more concerns I have on her. The more concerns I have, the more guidance I will give her. She will become a mini me or "I wanna be" instead of being herself. Will I travel light if I have so many concerns? I will say no to that.

At a personal level, I think I need to learn how to say "enough" to myself and stop buying and owning stuff. For being a mom, I need to keep reminding myself that she is an individual and I am the designated care provider for her for a period of time...and with that, I should let God to mold her and shape her to be the person HE wants her to be.

We could fix our eyes on God only when we travel light in this world.

西式|餐: 小虎的牛排

[2010/9/9] 小虎喜歡食牛排, 所以她讓我時時想大片大片的牛排!
煮牛排唯一的技巧是準備非常高熱的鍋才下牛排. 煎到brown有烤痕, 看到牛排邊有一半熟, 先在牛排生個面加鹽和胡椒, 翻過牛排來煎. 煎到有烤痕, 即七-八成熟.

中式|餐: 芥蘭炒臘腸(飯人學習菜)


[2010/9/11] 今日飯人學習三味菜- 蘭炒臘腸, 番茄蛋, 煎洋蔥豬扒. 一個字"PASS"! 因前兩味菜已經發布了, 今次只貼蘭炒臘腸啦.

材料: 芥蘭、臘腸、薑
調味料: 鹽、糖

做法:
1.芥蘭洗淨, 斜切成小片.
2.臘腸洗淨, 斜切成小片.
3.油起鑊, 爆薑片, 下臘腸炒香, 放芥蘭兜勻.
4.灒酒, 加少許糖, 少少水炒勻, 焗一焗即成

Tips: 芥蘭有苦味, 下糖可去除

中式|湯: 爵士湯=蜜瓜海螺煲老雞 Honeydew Chicken Soup

[2010/9/11] 今天煲的孕婦滋補營養靚湯是被稱為爵士湯的蜜瓜海螺煲老雞. 煲出來的湯奶白色, 又濃又白又甜. 老雞是媽媽買的, 乾螺頭是爸爸在香港時給我的, 我只不過是在Costco買蜜瓜.

材料: 老雞1只、乾螺頭2只、蜜瓜1/2只、薑5片、蔥
調味料: 鹽

做法
1. 雞洗淨, 去內臟, 尾部, 雞皮,用2片薑飛水.
2. 乾螺頭洗淨, 用2片薑及蔥飛水
3. 蜜瓜去皮去子, 切大塊
4. 水煲沸後, 下雞, 螺頭, 蜜瓜, 1片薑. 水再次煲沸後改文火煲2小時, 加適量鹽調味便可.

Am I getting one more Britax Roundabou50? No, I bought one back then in March but returned it coz I don't like the strips pattern. Later, we found a deal at target on Evenflo symphony65 for roughly $130. It holds up to 65lb for forward facing and up to 100lb as booster seat. We installed it in my hubby's car.

Did I get it? Oh, yes! With our 10% Target Reward discount, it goes down to $95. It will not be possible to find such a great deal next year when I upgrade the infant car seat, a sweet deal that I could not miss. 

懷孕第三期 - Rock & Roll (Third Trimester-III)

三期啦! 時間過好快, 還有兩個月, 小虎就出來啦!

Week 30
  • 水腫!水腫!好水腫!
  • 29週時開始腳腫, 腳大了一個size. 夜晚特別腫. 首先從腳開始腫, 然後到腿腫.
  • 30週手指頭開始腫, 尤其早上起床時最嚴重, 手指彎起揸埋來會覺得很痛, 手指屈唔到, 得個大"C"字. 腳腫還好, 手指腫就好痛好可憐! :(
  • 肚子越來越大, 行路好容易疲倦, 人都變懶, 但小虎婆婆說要多走路先容易生.
  • 去腫, 除多行路外, 可以浸鹽浴, 按摩, 喝紅豆水(煲滾熱水,泡浸紅豆1小時), 喝冬瓜薏仁湯, 還有蝦子餅的按摩啦!
Week 32
  • 近來有點擔心, 因為我朋友Cindy幾個星期前在她的34週生左. 要聽小虎公公話不要吃西瓜啦!
  • 幾乎忘了記錄, 大仔亞細從20週開始已比平時喜歡坐我膝蓋. 近來特別喜歡lun我個肚, 他喜歡躺在我肚子上Purrrrr, 小虎就會踢踢, 好似他們可以互相溝通, 好可愛! 希望他們能成為好朋友.










Week 35
  • 終於完成了為期一個月的Lamaze Class自然分娩助產課.說實話,好的是得知分娩過程,點處置陣痛,但點學都...依舊困惑!我認為最好是let it be!
  • 醫生說小虎現在大約5磅. 哇!難怪我看起來像火雞啦!
  • 我越來越腫的臉,越來越脹的手腳,和看起來像火雞的肚.OMG!我看起來極像小虎公公(我爸爸),HA!HA!
Week 38 (記錄時, 亞細坐我膝蓋)
  • 時間過得飛快, wk38啦!
  • 手腫, 腳腫, 臉腫, 超腫腫腫腫腫! 我婆婆話三腫三退就生得.
  • 沒有心情, 沒有食慾, 只有憂慮- 她什麼時候出來? 照超聲波後, 醫生話小虎現在有5磅10oz, 她的頭太細(1 percentile). 怎麼辦! 希望這測量再次有誤啦!
  • 現在幾乎每天早上我都有奇怪的感覺, 不知道我的身體是否準備分娩. Oh, 前兩天, 我發夢生得, 小虎好快就生出來, 不太痛. 希望現實是一樣啦!

中式|餐: 電飯煲蒸排骨飯 Steamed Ribs Over Rice (飯人學習菜)

[2010/8/26] 最初我們想煮點心style的蒸排骨飯, 但我們太懶改為用電飯煲蒸排骨飯. 懶惰的飯人當然要學啦!

材料: 排骨1lb、米2杯 (份量或多或少取決於你喜好)

醃料: 蘇打粉0.5茶匙、糖1湯匙

調味料: 蠔油1湯匙、醬油1茶匙、鹽少許、糖1茶匙、生粉1.5茶匙、胡椒粉少許、麻油少許、姜茸 1茶匙、蒜茸1茶匙、辣椒

做法:
1. 排骨下醃料醃1小時.
2. 之後, 排骨用水沖洗和印乾. 下調味料30分鐘.
3. 煮飯時. 加水至需要再少一點的量度.
4. 當飯煮至收水, 下排骨.
5. 飯煮好, 即可.

Tips: 如果電飯煲太小使排骨沒有足夠的空間而沒有完全煮熟,按"cook”鍵多幾分鐘, 煮至全熟即可.

中式|餐: 一雞兩味- 海南雞飯 Hainanese Chicken with Rice (飯人學習菜)

[2010/8/25] 一雞兩味的下半部餐- 海南雞的油飯和醬汁.

海南雞的雞飯(4碗)
材料: 米2杯, 蒜3瓣略拍, 薑3片, 月桂葉1片, 鹽少許, 雞汁2杯
做法:
1) 白米洗凈, 瀝乾水份
2) 燒熱油鑊, 爆香蒜和薑, 下白米炒3分鐘
3) 米放入電飯煲中, 加月桂葉和雞湯. 照平時煮飯的米水1:1比例煮, 雞汁不夠就加水.
4) 煮至飯熟. 取出月桂葉和薑蒜, 即可

海南雞辣醬
材料: 辣椒2隻, 薑4片, 蒜4瓣, 檸汁半個, 雞湯3湯匙, 魚露5滴, 辣椒醬4滴, 糖1茶匙
做法: 把所有材料放入搞拌器打勻. 即可

中式|餐: 一雞兩味- 白切雞 Steamed Chicken (飯人學習菜)

[2010/8/24] 週末在農夫市場買了隻三磅多的新鮮雞,那我們就來個一雞兩味. 第一餐當然煮薑蔥白切雞,嘗嘗隻新鮮雞好不好味, 第二餐先煮海南雞飯啦!

白切雞
材料: 雞1隻, 薑3-4片, 蔥1支, 鹽2湯匙, 酒2湯匙, 玫瑰酒1湯匙, 冰塊
做法:1) 雞洗凈, 瀝乾水份. 將鹽和酒均勻抹上雞身內外醃漬30分鐘
2) 將蔥片及姜放入雞腹中
3) 用大火加蓋隔水蒸熟, 約35-40分鐘.
4) 用筷子插入雞腿最厚肉的地方, 流出清水非血水, 即熟透.
5) 雞蒸熟後, 馬上放入塊水中迅速降溫至冷卻約15至20分鐘,雞肉才會有彈性
6) 留起蒸雞汁和雞油煮海南雞飯
7) 吊起雞, 風乾約3小時至雞滴油, 即可

薑蔥醬料
材料: 薑5片, 蔥4支, 鹽少許, 醬油少許, 雞油少許
做法: 將薑葱切蓉,加鹽,加醬油,最後加滾熱的油/雞油拌勻, 即可

中式|餐: 電飯煲有味雞飯 Steamed Chicken & Vegetable Mixed Rice (飯人學習菜)

[2010/8/9] 有味雞飯超容易做又好吃. 生完BB最好吃雞和姜保身, 這應該是飯人要學好的菜式.

材料: 雞肉3片、日本菇1-2盒、紅蘿蔔、米2杯 (份量或多或少取決於你喜好)
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉、醬油、蠔油、姜

做法:
1. 雞肉切成小粒,下調味料.
2. 日本菇和紅蘿蔔洗淨,切成小塊.
3. 油起鑊, 下雞肉粒煮至七成熟.下日本菇、紅蘿蔔、姜稍微翻炒, 沒有必要完全煮熟.
4. 將肉和汁分開.
5. 煮飯. 首先加肉汁, 然後加水至需要再少一點的量度.
6. 當飯煮至收水, 下肉.
7. 飯煮好, 混合肉和飯即可.

Tips:
- 調味不要太重手.
- 煮飯加水要少一點, 因為肉煮熟後會再出一點汁, 如果太多水,飯會太過濕.

為她起名

故事發生在我知道懷孕之前.

2010春, 查經組讀的是舊約出埃及記. 不知道為什麼我老是停在15章時27節"他們到了以琳, 在那裡有十二股水泉, 七十棵棕樹; 他們就在那裡的水邊安營." 心裡覺得神真好, 記得我們的需要. 當時也被"以琳" 這個名字吸引住. 那時, 我們剛剛嘗試懷孕, 希望神會給予. 第一個孩子, 我們當然希望是個男的. 但心想, "以琳"是女孩的名字, 不好吧!

當我知道懷孕後, 我試著忘記這事因為想要個男孩. 加上, 寶寶喜歡踢, 心裡猜應該是個男, 所以我們叫BB做小虎而不是豆豆. 小虎聽起來比豆豆較男子氣吧! 猜不到, 最後還是一個女孩. 事際上, 男孩還是女孩對我來說並不重要, 男孩女孩我都愛, 只是會減輕我為他家生男的負擔而以. 算一算, 其實在那個時候, 我已經懷孕啦! 真奇!

感謝神給我們一個BB女. 她會被起名為以琳/Elim嗎?

蝦子餅話英文Christian name 可以用Elim, 但中文名應該有中文意義. 那我就拭目以待, 看他能想出怎麼的名字吧! HA!HA!HA!

Prayer Needed!

I just came back from my 23week doctor visit. The good news is my baby girl is growing, but bad news is her head is still too small. Dr Jacoby said she has increased from 3 percentile to 5 percentile, but it is still on the small side. He told me to see a high risk specialist, Dr Albert, next time for another ultrasound as the expert's measurement may be different. That makes me worry about my baby's health.

Keep my finger cross that the technician didn't get a good job in measuring my baby head (sorry, lady!). Otherwise, it will come down to a 50/50 chance for either genetic issue (=normal, I guess) or disability. Oh God! I will be a good girl, a good mother. Please keep my baby girl healthy. That's all I have been asking for ....and still the only thing I ask for my baby. You know that's true. I just need my baby to be healthy, not beautiful nor smart. Please God! Please!

日式| 親子丼 Oyakodon - Japanese Chicken and Egg over Rice

[2010/7/13] 當我不想煮飯,我會煮親子丼(4人份). 1人份比例, 味霖/糖/醬油: 0.5/0.5/1.

材料: 雞肉1.5lb、蛋6隻、洋蔥半個
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉、味霖2Tbsp、糖2Tbsp、醬油4Tbsp、柴魚粉1Tsp

做法:
1) 雞肉加鹽, 胡椒粉醃10分鐘. 洋蔥切絲. 雞蛋打散.
2) 鍋中加柴魚粉, 1杯水, 味霖, 糖, 醬油, 煮熱.
3) 加洋蔥煮3分鐘,下雞肉, 煮止湯汁收乾到一半.
4) 倒入一半蛋液,蓋上蓋子,蛋煮止八成熟.
5) 倒入其餘蛋液,關火,悶煮1-2分鐘即可.
6) 趁熱淋在熱飯上

中|湯: 南瓜玉米紅蘿蔔瘦肉湯

[2010/7/14] 我喜歡用日本南瓜. 南瓜皮好有益, 千萬不要去皮煮. 洗净皮就ok.

材料:瘦肉1lb、日本南瓜半個、玉米2個、紅蘿蔔2個、薑片

做法:
1) 日本南瓜洗净去瓜蒂, 切小件.; 紅蘿蔔, 玉米略洗, 切小件.
2) 小鍋下水及薑片, 將瘦肉飛水.
3) 下水入大鍋, 水滾後下所有材料煮1.5小時.
4) 加鹽調味, 即成.

中式|餐: 午餐肉煎蛋 Fried Egg with Lunch Meat

[2010/7/14] 午餐肉煎蛋, 香口容易做. 大人孩子都愛吃.

材料: 午餐肉2片、蛋3
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉

做法:
1. 午餐肉切成小粒. 打蛋,下鹽、胡椒粉.
2. 用多油起鑊,煎香午餐肉粒.盛起加入雞液中.
3. 起油鑊,下雞液煎香,即可.

中式|餐: 炒波菜 Stir-Fried Spianch

[2010/7/14]  炒波菜很容易. 一定好吃.  波菜出水後會變小, 記住買多D波菜啦!

材料: 波菜、蒜片、蔥片
調味料: 鹽

做法:
1. 波菜洗淨. 切去尾部.
2. 起油鑊, 爆香薑蒜片, 下鹽,  加入波菜拌炒, 即可.

中式|餐: 甜豆炒蝦仁 Stir-Fried Shrimps with Honey Beans

[2010/7/14] 今晚好菜有甜豆炒蝦仁, 炒波菜, 煎黑椒牛柳粒, 午餐肉煎蛋, 南瓜玉米紅蘿蔔瘦肉湯. 甜豆炒蝦仁, 清清地,好好味. 記住甜豆一定要去兩邊絲, 否則一口豆根.

材料: 蝦仁0.5lb、甜豆、蒜片、蔥片
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉、魚露、麻油、米酒

做法:
1. 蝦仁用生粉搽勻後用清水洗淨. 抹乾後, 用鹽,胡椒粉醃10分鐘.
2. 甜豆去絲, 飛水, 不要熟過頭, 否則回鑊炒會時變得過腍, 盛起備用.
3. 起油鑊, 爆香薑蒜片, 加入蝦仁煮至八成熟, 下米酒. 略炒至後水幹後, 加甜豆拌炒, 最後以魚露,麻油調味, 即可.

中式|餐: 王子菇炒魚片 Stir-Fried Prince Mushroom with Pre-Fried Fish Paste

中式|餐: 蕃茄蛋 Tomato with Egg

[2010/6/17] 蕃茄蛋, 完美組合, 多汁好下飯, 正! 烹蕃茄蛋的秘訣是下茄汁提味.

材料: 蛋4個、蕃茄6個、蒜片、薑片
調味料: 茄汁、糖、鹽、胡椒粉

做法:
1) 洗淨蕃茄, 切小件; 打蛋, 加鹽和胡椒粉
2) 油起鑊,煎蛋. 煎熟撿起, 接著煎熟撿起, 讓蛋不會煮老. 所有蛋汁煮熟後. 讓蛋煎香到略略金黃色.
3) 炒香薑片蒜片,加入蕃茄, 茄汁, 糖和水. 烹到蕃茄出水後, 加豆粉水, 炒勻上碟,便可.

西式|餐: July4 BBQ 雞翼, 豬扒, 蝦, 香腸, 玉米, 蘑菇


中式|餐: 餃子Dumplings


[2010/7/6] 夏天不想做飯時, 我會包餃子. 包餃子可以用各種各樣的蔬菜.

材料: 餃子皮1包、肉末1.5lb、菜
調味料: 豉油、胡椒粉醬、糖、油、水
醬汁: 豉油、蒜蓉、辣椒醬、麻油、醋

做法:
1) 菜洗淨, 切小條,下很多鹽. 等20分鐘, 菜出水後, 榨出水止非常乾
2) 肉末下調味料醃20分鐘.
3) 將肉末和菜攪拌10分鐘, 直到充分拌混合, 用餃子皮包好.
4) 水煮熱後, 加入餃子,  加上蓋煮到浮起.
5) 醬汁, 我喜歡用豉油, 蒜蓉, 辣椒醬, 麻油, 醋.

Tips:
- 包餃子最簡單的方法是, 把肉放在中間,餃子皮折疊起一個三角形來, 四角加水. Chinese ravioli.

中式|餐: 豆豆炒肉末 Stir-Fried Green Bean & Grounded Pork in Chili BB sauce

[2010/7/13] 豆豆炒肉末, 快手, 美味!

材料: 豆豆、肉末、蒜蓉、薑蓉
調味料: 豉油、豆豉醬、胡椒粉醬、辣椒豉油、蠔油

做法:
1) 豆豆洗淨, 切小條; 肉末下胡椒粉及醬油醃10分鐘.
2) 油起鑊, 下蒜蓉,薑蓉及豆豉醬炒香, 加肉末.
3) 肉末炒至七成熟, 加豆豆, 加上蓋子用小火. 略煮後, 加水, 辣椒豉油及蠔油炒勻. 略至豆軟身, 下豆粉水炒勻, 便可上碟.

Yesterday when I shopped in Target, I accidently found some nursing tank top on sales. It originally priced at $15, but now it marked down to $4.85 in the Frisco Target Store (near Hwy121). Other Target stores in Plano(Parker Rd), Allen(Stacy Rd), Mckinney(Custer Rd) have these tank tops marked down to $8.45. Hurry up to grap some from the Frisco store before they all gone. I got four in different color - pink, black, brown, blue in medium size. A small size is a little bite tight on me now. I bet it will not good for breast feeding swollen breast.

孕婦保健 Pregnancy Care

Having a baby is the best time to ask your hubby to serve you. I love massage and having him to massage my stinky feet and ballon belly does help me to relax.

  • 乳房按摩 Bust Massage Good for sore breast in the first trimester, I wish I learn this earlier.
  • 乳頭按摩 Nipple Massage Haven't tried it yet, but it is good to preparie yourself for breast feeding after the seventh month.
  • 足部按摩 Foot Massage Love this, it's very good for tired and swollen feet in the second trimester

韓式|餐: 香辣牛肉金菇豆腐鍋 Korean Style Beef and Tofu Stew

[2010/7/5] 今日很疲倦, 所以煮易做美味的韓式香辣牛肉金菇豆腐鍋.

材料: 牛肉、金菇、豆腐、薑片
調味料: 豉油、糖、麻油、胡椒粉、韓式辣醬、魚粉、味林

做法:
1) 洗淨牛肉, 用豉油, 糖, 麻油, 胡椒粉調味.
2) 洗淨金菇, 切尾; 豆腐切大塊.
3) 熱鑊後加油, 爆香薑片, 放牛肉. 待八成熟後, 加金菇略煮. 金菇會出水, 要加豆粉水調厚.
4) 沙鍋加熱, 放入韓式辣醬, 魚粉,味林及少少水, 煮熱後加豆腐.
5) 豆腐煮熱後, 加牛肉, 金菇及汁入沙鍋內. 略煮即可.

Kitchen Tools Review: Vita-Mix Blender

Before we bought the Vitamix Blender from Costco, we tried the Breville Juicer and the Jack Lalanne Juicer. The Jack Lalanne Juicer is awful, hard to clean and the juice has a lot of pulp. The Breville is a better juicer. The juice came free of fiber and the fiber left behind is quite dry, so you got all the juice out of the vegetables and fruits.

Then, we have the Vitamix. We missed the fresh tasting Breville juice, but it's a whole different concept of having whole food. Everyone knows fiber is good for our bodies. When we couldn't chew down tons of vegetables, having a very powerful machine to break it down is the next best way to consume enough vegetables and fruits for our body needs.

It's a pricey machine, but it could make juice, ice-cream, soup, smoothie, and baby food. It's not that good looking, but is very powerful. We prefer the Vitamix than the BlendTec, because we could control the power of the machine = texture of the finished product. Sure, there's a learning curve to get use to its power but we are not limited by a set of pre-defended settings(like BlendTec). It's especially helpful for making almond paste and baby food.

I know it's quite a hassle to take it out and put it back to the cabinet, but it's super easy to clean. It's bulky and heavy, but I will use it everyday once we remodeled out kitchen.

給自己的信

記得當我還是中學生時, 我想出一本書. 一本收集小孩/青少年就"什麼應該或不應該對他們將來的孩子做"的書. 這是因為我們成長後, 會忘記我們想如何被對待或不被對待. 我們好有可能犯同樣的錯誤, 所以以下是對我自己的提醒.

今後...
1) 要做一個讓孩子覺得可信賴/可告密的媽媽. 如果孩子愛你, 當他們受傷或有困難時會來找你; 不然, 他們會隱藏自己的問題和感受.
2) 不要讓孩子覺得被拒絕. 被拒絕= 不被愛. 即使在幼年時或在小事上也不能, 他們會記得的. 有被愛的感覺, 孩子會全心愛你; 無被愛的感覺, 孩子會尊重/照顧你, 但不會與你有很親密的關係. 這是有區別的.
3) 專注孩子的感受, 不是你的感受. 他們是孩子, 而你是媽媽. 他們年少, 你年老有智慧. 你的位置是'給'不是'得'. 讓孩子'得', 他們從你身上就會學習/知道如何'給'.
4) 不要要求孩子做你喜歡的事, 讓他們做自己喜歡的事. 讓他們隨心行自己(神允許/計劃)成長的方式. 搜尋孩子的才華, 悄悄地鼓勵他們但不要硬銷/強迫他們.
5) 孩子是Rebels, 他們也是Copycats. 你怎樣做, 他們也怎樣做. 如果你想他們跟你不同, 你首先要改變自己的行為. 不要你自己去東, 但告訴他們去西. 你不做, 他們也不會做. 身教比言教重要!

大肚dump重有人愛

自從我懷孕以來, 情緒都很容易波動.

家中多左+2, 去街, 吃飯, 無論做什麼, 都要考慮他們, 加上一些生活習慣不同. 或多或少都有點壓力. 當然我們有壓力, 他們也有壓力. 他們來的6個月中,正正有4個月是我懷孕初期, 情緒特別敏感. 媽媽要我照顧他們, 包容他們, 做這樣, 做那樣, 好煩! 不是因為我不愛他們, 只是我懷孕但還要做這麼多. 那有誰愛我, 照顧我?  對他們, 有時我會生氣; 對媽媽, 我會痛會哭, 好像一切都是我的錯. 我不應該生氣. 我不應該埋怨. 我不應該要求蝦子餅的注意(=關懷). 若我說我不舒服,那我是想要吸引別人的注意?! Oh, 懷孕都不能說痛和不適嗎?懷孕是需要人愛和關懷的, 不是去給予他人愛和關懷. 這簡單的道理, 需要我說明嗎?所有不被愛的童年回憶像海浪回到我的身邊.


這個長週末: 週五, 下班後驅車1.5小時接她, 帶他們吃韓國燒烤; 週六, 看世界杯還租了一些電影回家但沒有人看; 週日, 想他們在家會覺得無聊, 送他們去Mall逛街, 以便我們可以在家完成BB床, 晚上煮BBQ給他們....估不到換來的是她哭著對我說: 發脾氣! 不想煮BBQ, 就不要煮! ....是誰可憐?  當然我知道她需要照顧雙方面, 手背是肉, 手掌是肉, 但我覺得我應該得到公平的對待, 因為此時此刻我懷孕阿!

幸好我還有人(DigDigPoPo)關心我, 來探我, 給我買雪糕, 買BellyCream, 給我'add oil'. 開心, 不是她給我的禮物, 而是她給我的關懷. 菜沒有'人'給我特別做, 但我有'別人'(蝦子餅外)給我幸福的感覺.

為什麼'別人'知道如何寵我, 但...


...[後記]... 晚上,不知道哭了有多少次. 最終在禱告中平靜下來. 心事還是只有神才可以治愈. 我在很多方面上已比許多人幸福了. 有健康,有好丈夫, 有多過我生活基本需要的. 一切一切都是神的祝福. 還是把重點放在正面的事情上吧!  酸溜溜, 不公平的感覺會令我們有妒忌; 妒忌會令我們失去該有的平安和喜樂!

中式| 湯: 苦瓜咸酸菜排骨湯 Bitter Melon, Salty Vegetable and Ribs soup

[2010/6/20] 苦瓜咸酸菜排骨湯是婆婆教我的.

材料:排骨1lb、苦瓜1條、咸酸菜1個、薑片

做法:
1) 苦瓜洗净去瓜蒂, 切小件.; 咸酸菜略洗, 切小件.
2) 排骨下鹽醃10分鐘. 小鍋下水及薑片, 將排骨飛水.
3) 下水入大鍋, 水滾後下咸酸菜及排骨煮半小時.
4) 之後下苦瓜煮15分鐘.
5) 加鹽調味, 即成.

Tips:
- 不怕苦, 可以早下苦瓜.

中式|餐: 妹妹特製豬扒 MacAlAl's Pork Chops

[2010/6/30] 豬扒是我的拿手好菜, 這烹調方法是大學一年級時的亂煮出來的. 亂煮=特製! 所以我把它叫做MacAlAl 妹妹特製豬扒.

材料: 豬扒2lb、洋蔥1個、蒜蓉、薑蓉
調味料:  醬油、蠔油、麻油

做法:
1) 豬扒洗淨, 用刀背拍軟豬扒. 下蒜蓉,薑蓉及調味料醃20-30分鐘.
2) 洋蔥切小條. 油起鑊,略略炒香洋蔥, 取出.
3) 加一點點油, 下豬扒煎至表面微黄色, 翻面再煎.
4) 煮至無血水時, 調味碗加水及豆粉, 把它倒入豬扒中, 加上蓋子,小火煮至熟.
5) 加洋蔥, 炒勻, 便可上碟.

中式|餐: 苦瓜煎蛋 Fried Egg with Bitter Melon

[2010/6/25] 在我家從來沒有苦瓜煎蛋這個菜,直到婆婆來美住時才第一次接觸這個菜.

材料: 苦瓜半條、蛋4-5隻
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉

做法:
1) 苦瓜洗淨去瓜蒂, 切成小薄片; 蛋和調味料一起打散.
2) 熱鑊加油, 煎苦瓜片至香軟. 煎香後取出.
3) 加多一點點油, 倒入蛋液, 加苦瓜片, 煎至兩面金黄就可.

Tips:
- 煎蛋的油不能太少, 否則煎出的蛋會幹不够香
- 苦瓜不煎, 會好苦. 苦瓜煎不够香, 整個菜會不好食

中式|餐: 菜心炒魚丸

[2010/6/30] 菜心時時食, 今天用另一種方式來煮菜心. 加任何魚丸炒菜心, 簡單容易, 人人都喜歡.

材料: 菜心、墨魚丸10、蒜片、薑片、鹽

做法
1)洗淨菜心; 洗淨魚丸, 切半.
2)油起鑊,炒香薑片蒜片,加入魚丸煎到金黃色
3)   下菜心炒熟。
4)加適量鹽,炒勻上碟,便可.

中式|餐: 蒜蓉炒豆苗

[2010/6/30] 蒜蓉炒豆苗好容易煮, 只要確保有足夠的油和用大火煮便會成功.
材料: 豆苗、蒜頭二顆、鹽

做法:
1)洗淨豆苗, 去除老莖.
2)將蒜頭切成蒜蓉.
3)用多一點油起鑊,炒香蒜蓉,加入豆苗炒熟.
4)加適量鹽,炒勻上碟,便可.

懷孕第二期 - 後半場:蜜月期?? (Second Trimester-II)

前半場, 啞子食黃蓮,有苦自己知; 後半場, 終於到蜜月期. 事實上, 前半場或後半場都好, 只有準媽媽自己一個人先深切感覺到.

Week 18-19:
  • 到下半場啦! 仔還是女? 外婆一早已在母親節時猜小虎是女. 我們猜是仔仔, 因為小虎好活躍, 不停Arching和Kicking.
  • 星期三照超聲波, 三條線, 小虎是女仔呀! 難怪當我叫小虎在看醫生時記得表現他的小鳥鳥, 她沒有回應, 無踢踢啦!
  • 檢查後, 蝦子餅和我去買裙仔, 因為我們沒有準備足夠的女仔衫(有買女仔衫, 但我們主要是買男仔的), 加上為猜錯小虎性別感而到內疚, 所以我們瘋狂的買, 買左兩打Polo裙仔. 之後連續三日, 我去左好多好多好多嬰兒店, 如同上班一樣, 每日最小都有六小時, 行到腳痛, 休息了兩日. 小虎一歲的衫足以淹沒整個嬰兒房地板, 補償曬啦!
  • 週六探外婆時, 給她看超聲波照片和從兩打裙仔中挑了一些好看的. 外婆話生女仔好, 女仔會幫手又會照顧人. 她笑爸爸給小虎改的名好怪好好笑, 比如 Paige = 黃頁, Ginger = Ginger Monk, 似媽媽Monk薑和愛看神探亞Monk. Haha!
  • 週日是父親節, 所以我們留待到父親節當日打IDD返香港告訴爺爺, 嫲嫲和公公知. 好奇怪, 公公都猜對小虎是女. 我猜他喜歡外女多D. 公公婆婆好聰明哦!
  • 爺爺奶奶都開心. 爺爺話"心心", 即是話女仔貼心呀! 嫲嫲同外婆一樣, 話生女仔好, 會幫手. 雖然蝦子餅是家中唯一的男丁, 但他們沒有因為不是生仔而不高興. 好彩!
  • 我們還沒有告訴太嫲太婆. 我婆婆就沒有問題, 第一次三代同堂已好開心. 現在只希望會過蝦子餅嫲嫲最後一關. 那就Happy Family 啦!
  • 蝦子餅話無壓力, 但我作為女性不多不少都有壓力=無形壓力.

Week 19-20:
  • 這個星期好忙. 第一是Gap 大減價, 折完再折60%Off, 要為小虎買衫, 大大話話都跑左Gap9次. 現在她有一堆從0個月至24個月的夏季秋季衫. 之後,我們只需要買冬季衫. 第二是蝦子餅生日, 下午我帶他去Fox Bar看世界杯, 晚上哥哥請他食意大利餐. 這幾天, 十小時不停, 行到腳痛, 座到背痛! 要留在家裡休息兩天.
  • 另一個店, 我們常常去的是Ikea, 買Crib(蝦子餅用來flip的), toothing rails, 一些板和布(用來做Boppy Cover的). 我們都是"Lawy Jean", 喜歡DIY/custom-made, 做不一樣的物品.
  • 現在, 小虎動作好大, 有時會覺得不舒服, 口苦苦. 這個星期, 刷牙後嘔左一次. 可能是我缺乏鐵質. 不是每一天都有心情/胃口吃維他命. 小虎要對我溫柔呀!
  • 口苦會想吃甜的東西, 但這個星期起開始要少吃冰淇淋, 巧克力, 飯和可樂. 因為下週將有一個糖尿病測試(飲糖水). 如果我測試失敗, 將會非常非常糟糕!

Week 20-27:
  • 這幾個星期我胃口好了一點, 食量恢復正常, 有時(什至晚上)會想食小吃, 所以體重逐漸增加, 差不多每週一鎊.
  • 小虎動作好大, 很多踢踢. 蝦子餅終於在27週感覺得到她非常強烈的踢踢.
  • 自那尿病測試(飲糖水)以來,我不再喜歡人工甜味- 可樂, 太甜的冰淇淋. 一吃就會記那可怕的糖水味道.
  • 因為哥哥嫂嫂已遷離, 我不需要常常煮飯或去街, 可以休息多一點. 蝦子餅不需要接嫂嫂也可以早點回家幫我做飯. 現在一有時間就會教蝦子餅煮飯, 因為小虎一出世, 我就會沒有時間/精力煮飯. 首兩三個月, 他要照顧我飲食, 當然要教蝦子餅做D簡單美味菜式啦.
  • 小虎24週, 爸爸說她像他有一個高高的鼻子.










Week 28-29:
  • 這幾天, 我不太有胃口. 天氣10天來連續超過105F. 不想出門, 不想去街購物. 兩個人的體溫超熱, 有空調有風扇, 還是覺得這麼熱.
  • 我的肚子越來越大, 越來越重. 多得好友Linda(中一打籃球已認識!)速郵D媽咪用品(腹帶, 內衣褲等)來給我. 大肚dump走動起來舒服得多. 除了速郵媽咪用品給我, 她還email 和打電話來關心我, 真感人! XOXOXO! 友愛多偉大! 黃先生得到這樣可愛的妻子, 多幸運!
  • 小虎動作仍然好大, 日踢夜踢. 有時刻, 會看到肚子左右移動, 蝦子餅覺得好有趣, 但我覺得好怪.

中|湯: 蕃茄牛肉薯仔湯 Tomato and Grounded Beef Soup (optional: Potato)

[2010/6/30] 蕃茄牛肉薯仔湯好飲易煮, 懶惰但希望有湯飲的不二選.

材料:免治牛肉1lb、蕃茄6個、薯仔1個、薑片、蒜片、蛋1個

做法:
1) 洗干净蕃茄及薯仔, 切小件.
2) 鍋, 大火加少少油爆香薑片及蒜片, 下免治牛肉, 加鹽和黑胡椒, 炒一炒.
3) 免治牛肉煮至八成熟, 加蕃茄炒.
4) 蕃茄煮腍後, 加薯仔, 加熱水大火滾20分鐘.
5) 關火, 下打好雞蛋, 加蓋, 幾秒鐘後開蓋, 攪拌成蛋花.

Tips:
- 加熱水, 免治牛肉不會煮過頭, 及湯可以更快煮好.

中式| 湯: 姬松菇玉米紅蘿蔔豬骨

[2010/6/29] 姬松菇玉米紅蘿蔔南北杏豬骨湯, 清甜潤肺! 姬松菇可防癌, 並營養豐富. 此湯可加蘋果.

材料:豬骨1.5lb 、姬松菇4個、玉米2條、紅蘿蔔2條、蜜棗2粒、南北杏各2錢、果皮、薑片

做法:
1) 大火煲水, 加薑片及豬骨飛水.
2) 所有蔬菜洗淨切小片; 姬松菇泡水直到軟身
3) 用另一鍋煲水,下蔬菜, 蜜棗, 大火煲滾.
4) 水滾後, 下豬骨, 南北杏, 果皮.
5) 大火煲30分鐘, 轉中火煲90分鐘
6) 加鹽調味,即成。

中式|餐: 炆瑤柱節瓜脯 Hairy Cucumber & Dried Scallop Stew

[2010/6/29] 夏天最好食瑤柱節瓜脯. 節瓜正氣, 最適合夏天食, 用來炆江瑤柱, 鮮味無窮, 伴飯一流.

材料: 節瓜1個、江瑤柱2-3粒、蒜蓉1湯匙、薑2片
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉

做法:
1) 節瓜洗淨, 用刀刮去外皮,切粗段
2) 江瑤柱用水浸至軟身, 用手撕開.
3) 熱鑊加油, 爆香薑片, 下節瓜煎至兩面少許金黃色
4)下蒜蓉爆香, 炒勻節瓜, 然後下江瑤柱和江瑤柱水, 慢火煮約20分鐘,直至節瓜軟身為止
5) 加豆粉水, 汁煮至濃稠, 起鑊即成即成

中式|餐: 青椒豆豉雞翼 Stir-Fried Chicken Wings with Green Peppers


[2010/6/29] 今日煮椒絲腐乳炒通菜外, 還有青椒豆豉雞翼, 炆瑤柱節瓜脯.

材料: 青椒2隻、雞翼10隻、蒜蓉1湯匙、豆豉蓉1湯匙、薑2片
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉、豉油

做法:
1) 雞翼洗淨, 中間切段成兩小件, 加調味料及一半蒜頭豆豉蓉醃20分鐘
2) 青椒切成小件
3) 熱鑊加油, 爆香薑片及蒜頭豆豉蓉, 下雞翼炒香
4) 雞翼九成熟時, 加入青椒炒勻
5) 加豆粉水, 收乾水後起鑊即成即成

Tips:
- 青椒不要太早加. 否則青椒熟過頭不好吃.

中式|餐: 椒絲腐乳炒通菜

[2010/6/29] 炎炎夏日最好煮好食易做的椒絲腐乳炒通菜.
材料: 通菜、蒜頭1粒、紅辣椒2隻
調味料: 腐乳2小塊、糖、 麻油

做法:
1) 腐乳,糖和麻油用匙羮搓爛成醬狀
2) 紅辣椒切絲; 蒜頭剁成蓉; 通菜洗淨切段
3) 熱鑊加油, 爆香蒜蓉和辣椒絲, 下腐乳爆香
4) 加入通菜, 炒勻至熟即成

西式|湯: 牛尾湯 Ox Tail& Vegetables Soup

[2010/6/23] 牛尾湯有益好飲, 有助孕婦吸收多種維他命.

材料:牛尾5+件、芹菜3條、紅蘿蔔3個、蕃茄4個、洋葱半個、薯仔3個、薑片

做法:
1) 洗干净蔬菜, 切小件.
2) 下水入真空煲內鍋, 下蔬菜, 大火滾90分鐘.
3) 另一鍋, 大火加少少油爆香薑片, 下牛尾炒一炒, 然後加入真空煲內鍋. (不要油膩,可跳過此步驟)
4) 把煲放入真空煲焗2小時。然後取出內鍋, 再煮半小時。
5) 加鹽及"辣椒仔" 調味, 即成。

中式|湯: 合掌瓜玉米紅蘿蔔豬骨湯

[2010/6/15] 合掌瓜玉米紅蘿蔔豬骨湯清甜又潤喉. 食完咖哩後, 潤一潤.

材料:豬骨1.5lb 、玉米2條、合掌瓜2個、紅蘿蔔2條、蜜棗2粒、南北杏各2錢、果皮、薑片

做法:
1) 大火煲水, 加薑片及豬骨飛水.
2) 所有蔬菜洗淨切小片
3) 用另一鍋煲水,下蔬菜, 蜜棗, 大火煲滾.
4) 水滾後, 下豬骨, 南北杏, 果皮.
5) 大火煲30分鐘, 轉中火煲90分鐘
6) 加鹽調味,即成。

中式|湯: 紅菜頭湯 Beetroot and Mixed Vegetable Soup

[2010/6/14] 忘了拍照. 下一次la. 紅菜頭好有益處, 非常甜的蔬菜. 它對那些有屁股瘡/痔瘡的人特別有好處. 每天用紅菜頭煮水喝, 痔瘡會癒合.
 
材料:紅菜頭3個、芹菜3條、紅蘿蔔3個、蕃茄4個、洋葱半個、薑片

做法:
1) 洗干净蔬菜, 切小件.
2) 大火加少少油爆香薑片. 漸次下蔬菜, 下鹽和胡椒, 炒一炒.
3) 下水入煲,大火滾. 煲90分鐘
4) 加鹽調味, 即成。

中式|餐: 台式滷肉飯 Taiwanese Meat Sauce

[2010/6/12] 今日照blog友B媽的po做台式滷肉飯, 她的版本有點甜, 所以我改一改. 大多數台灣菜加很多豉油和糖, 如果你和我一樣喜歡鹹味多過甜味, 自己調整一下味道. 蝦子餅+2 都話ok, 但不是我"鹹人"杯茶la.

材料: 肥豬肉1.5lb 、冬菇6隻、蒜蓉5粒、紅蔥頭1.5粒、炸蒜5Tbsp、雞蛋4 隻
調味料: 豉油10Tbsp、紹酒4Tbsp、冰糖一小塊、花生醬1Tbsp、五香粉適量


做法:
1) 冬菇泡軟後切粒.不需要醃
2) 烚雞蛋, 去殼, 用牙籤博一些小洞在蛋上
3) 熱鑊加少許油, 爆香蒜蓉和紅蔥頭, 放入肉碎炒熟
4) 加入冬菇碎、炸蒜、豉油、紹油、花生醬和砂糖炒勻
5) 將烚好的雞蛋放進鍋內, 加水直至蓋過材料, 煮滾後加蓋用慢火把滷肉炆至乾身少水

     Several years ago, a preacher accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter.. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

    When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.' 中式|小點: 咖喱魚蛋蘿蔔豬皮 HK Style Curry Fish Balls, Turnips, and Fried Pork Skins

[2010/6/13]  在香港, 我日日食咖喱魚蛋. 這裡沒有咖喱魚丸賣, 只好自己做.  煮咖喱魚蛋可以加入蘿蔔、豬皮等. 附圖是今日做的咖哩魚蛋蘿蔔麵. He!He!我食曬D魚蛋, 4人食每個人只得3-4粒.

材料: 魚蛋一包、紅蔥頭一大粒、蒜頭四粒
調味料: 咖哩粉2Tbsp 、黃薑粉1tsp、海鮮醬1Tbsp、沙茶醬 1Tbsp (optional:子天椒2條)



做法:
1) 紅蔥頭、蒜頭切粒;  洗淨魚蛋.
2) 熱鍋後加多D油,  爆香紅蔥頭粒、蒜粒.
3) 下咖哩粉、黃薑粉、海鮮醬、沙茶醬. 煮一會兒, 然後加2杯水.
4) 待咖哩汁煮熱, 放入魚蛋, 用慢火煮熱即可.
5) 若加蘿蔔/豬皮/雞尖, 照下做法
         * 蘿蔔(半條): 去皮, 切大粒. 用另一個鍋, 加2杯水和一些糖. 水煮滾後, 加蘿蔔, 加蓋慢火煮
                              至軟身.
         * 豬皮(半包): 非即食豬皮, 要用姜蔥飛水; 即食豬皮, 洗淨即可.
         * 雞尖: 用薑和蔥煮熟.
   ...然後加入咖哩魚蛋中煮片刻即可.

Tips:
* 魚蛋大火煮, 會丟失魚蛋的味道.

中式|小食: 煎釀茄子/青椒/辣椒/苦瓜 Stuffed eggplant/pepper/ bitter melon in Black Bean Sauce

[2010/6/13] 今日用魚漿做煎釀茄子. 除了茄子, 平日會做煎釀青椒/辣椒/苦瓜. 因為買不到辣椒, 加上懷孕期間不應該吃苦瓜, 我只好做茄子. 今天不知何故不想用粟粉水埋獻. 孕婦是奇怪的! ... ... 幾個星期後,我做了一些釀辣椒和煎魚餅.

材料: 茄子2條、魚漿0.5lb、蔥粒、蒜粒、豆豉
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉、蠔油、生抽

做法:
1) 茄子切寬片, 在中間切一刀, 深而不破.
2) 魚漿加鹽, 胡椒粉, 蔥粒並攪拌. 如果魚漿太稀, 加一些生粉.
3) 茄子中間下少少生粉, 將魚漿釀入茄子中.
4) 熱鑊後加油, 放下茄子, 慢火煎香. 確保中間魚漿完全煮熟至兜起.
5) 鑊加少少油, 爆香蒜粒豆豉, 下少許蠔油, 生抽, 下粟粉水埋獻.

Tips:
* 苦瓜切寬片, 辣椒切半, 青椒沿邊切片, 去子.
* 魚漿加冬菇冬蝦米會香D. 
材料: 冬菇3隻、蝦米8隻.
做法: 蝦米泡軟後切粒; 冬菇泡軟後切粒. 用少許蠔油, 糖, 醃2分鐘. 熱鑊加少許油, 爆香蝦米冬菇粒. 乾時, 加一些水, 煮到再次轉幹. 加入魚漿中並攪拌.

中式|餐: 蘿蔔炆魚鬆 Stir-Fry Trunips and Fish Paste

[2010/6/14] 今日用剩餘的魚漿做蘿蔔炆魚鬆.

材料: 白蘿蔔半條、魚漿0.5lb、冬菇3隻、蝦米8隻、蔥粒、蒜片、薑片
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉

做法:
1) 白蘿蔔去皮, 切薄寬條.
2) 蝦米泡軟後切粒; 冬菇泡軟後切粒. 用少許蠔油, 糖, 醃2分鐘
3) 熱鑊加少許油, 爆香蝦米冬菇粒. 乾時, 加一些水, 煮到再次轉幹.
4) 魚漿加鹽, 胡椒粉, 蝦米冬菇粒, 蔥粒. 如果魚漿太稀, 加一些生粉.
5) 熱鑊後加油, 放下魚漿, 慢火煎成微微金黃色. 兜起, 切成蘿蔔同樣薄寬的條狀.
6) 鑊加少少油, 爆香蒜片薑片, 下白蘿蔔兜炒, 加一些水, 煮滾後加蓋用慢火把蘿蔔炆至軟身. 放魚餅到鑊中, 炆煮2分鐘. 下粟粉水埋獻.

Tips:
* 下魚漿時, 大多數只有30%魚漿觸到鑊. 先讓那30%煎2分鐘. 見那30%有少少硬便轉面, 用鑊鏟於硬處按下魚漿成一大塊魚餅, 慢火煎成微微金黃色, 轉面再煎生的邊至金黃色.  如用鑊鏟按生的魚漿部分會粘鑊鏟.
* 蘿蔔會出水, 炆蘿蔔時不要加太多水.

食食食| 大喜慶回來了!

看Yahoo, 知大喜慶回來, 我好高興! 主廚不是高師傅, 而是他的的大兒子高文煒. 換了主廚, 好吃還是不好吃, 好難講. 但有點失落, 因為我猜最愛的金錢雞不會在菜單上. 多年來夥記多次多次告訴我, 無高廚師=無金錢雞, 無人做. Oh!我真的很久沒有吃金錢雞了.

這個地方對我來說有特殊意義, 記得Esther婚前, Ann和我請她來大喜慶吃飯, 夥記看到我給她的結婚禮物Wow Wow聲重High過我地.  還有, 這是蝦子餅和我第一次在香港正式約會的地方.  在舊店真的有許多美好回憶.

Ha!ha! "上年紀的還是會來重溫蟹皇翅"... Ar,"上年紀的"不如說"老客". 因為我很喜歡這個蟹皇翅,但我不"老", 年輕時已經來吃飯麻.

我回港會試試, 希望它不會像回來之後的"新益"... 但要在一年後, 要等小虎出世之後. 等...等...等!

Smarty shorts last for your whole pregnancy

It's summer! It's hot! I couldn't survive the TX super hot summer without a shorts, but I don't want to spent any money in buying a shorts or pant that only last for two to three months during my pregnancy. My belly is growing in an uncontrollable rate and I couldn't get on diet (Absolutely No!)... but I deeply need a shorts.

This morning, I found an amazing linen shorts by Liz Lange Maternity from Target. Oh, it has a brilliant waist band design.  At first I though the elastic band was broken and demanded my husband to find me another pair. After careful examination, I found a button and an opening at the back. Um....I pulled up the elastic band and smiled. Wow, there are numerous button holes on the band for me to hook on to the button for size adjustment. It is not a cheaply made shorts, but a smarty shorts!

It's only $19.99 and I truly believe it will last for the whole summer or even the entire pregnancy.  It's only come in light gray color. I wish they have more color, so I could get a few more. That's how much I love it.

好友Irene & Mandy

Irene要結婚了! 是這原因, 在Arizona的Mandy和我終於再次contact. 都怪我不再玩MSN/Facebook,玩失縱.

我珍惜我們的友誼,但我們中間有很多缺頁. 中學畢業後, 我們都生活在不同的國家, 在不同的time zone, 過不同的生活, 交不同的朋友, 努力適應新的生活. 大學畢業後, 大家都為自己的事業奮鬥,忙約會.

畢業/結婚成為彼此連接的交互點. 是遺憾, 但當我們得知彼此性格沒有太大變化, 還是相互理解,感情友誼仍在, 是多喜樂的事.

特別是Mandy, Irene, Nicky 和我都沒有在大學畢業後遷回香港. 不是因為我們不想見面, 是我們很難同時回港見見面. 心仍然懷念對方, 只是我們有點忙和懶. 但老朋友, 無計la.

我會努力保持聯繫, 努力寫我的blog好讓你們知道我的最新消息. 老友, 我會盡我所能, 但至少你可以comment 我的blog post 或給我發email.

中式|湯:番茄洋蔥魚湯 Canton Tomato Onion Fish Soup

[2010/5/28] 為了小虎,我晨早8am起身做魚湯,希望讓他可以擁有健康的眼睛。當媽媽不容易啊!

材料:魚3條、蕃茄6個、洋葱半個、薑片及葱少許

做法:
1) 用菜刀背刮鱼鳞,洗干净鱼肚,拭干水. 切蕃茄,洋葱.
2) 大火加2匙油爆香薑片及葱。下魚,煎至兩面呈金黃色.
3) 下滾水入煲,大火滾. [必須用滾水!]
4) 見到煲內的水成奶白色時,再放入蕃茄洋葱一起用中火煲30分鐘
5) 加鹽調味,即成。

Good Buy: Bugaboo Frog Diaper Bag vs Petunia Pickle bottom Diaper Bag


Like a busy bee, I like to stock up good bargins even I don't need it at that moment of my life. One good example is diaper bags. I got the PPB tote almost four years ago coz I love the design and pattern of it. At that time, we just got married and still haven't talk about our baby plan. I just couldn't pass on an good deal like that. We also got the Bugaboo Frog backpack way before we bought the bee. Again, it was on clearance sales and we love the Bugaboo Frog stroller. Same as the Built tote, we got couple of them beacuse we know they will become handy some day. Um...keep you from getting jealous, I am not going to disclose the price. :)

Well, here's how we plan to use them.
  • Petunia Pickle Bottom touring tote - Suit for daily use. I guess it will be my purse for couple years. It's very pretty, compact, and got 3 straps options.  Pair it with the BUILT thirsty tote will save some room to store other things. 
  • Bugaboo Frog Backpack - Good for longer shopping trips and hubby to carry. There are many mixed reviews but it could clip on to the bee and save us from buying a cup holder. The stroller won't tip over even when 5 books in the bag and the seat is empty. For best practice, we advise to put something in the underbasket to keep the stroller balance.  
  • For overnight trips, I have my eyes on the Mia Bossi Reese. Before I spot a good deal on it (I missed the one from Gilt Group), I guess I could use the big chanel tote or the gucci travel tote and rest my mind on the diaper bag shopping.  [7/4: Gap has a July4 sales on the Mia Bossi Reese for $130 after tax.  Oh! It's so tempting, but I didn't get it coz two diaper bags should be enough and I truly don't want to carry a big bag around. Thus, I saw another Mia Bossi bag in BabyBliss in person and was not impressed with its quality. Not sure whether it is the same as Reese, but my BBP is so good looking and sturdy.]

 

Good Buy: Bugaboo Stroller

We bought a red Bugaboo bee got $458 (after tax) from Baby Bliss store with a 20% off on NIB 09 model  and a Bee Cocoon at $59 (no tax, free shipping) from www.mystrollers.com after price match with NM. Total bring up to $517 for a stroller system for the use from infant to toddler around age 3/4. We bought the cocoon because we though it will be more comfortable for infant to sleep in a nest instead of a car seat. Oh well, if we changed our mind we will get the small maxi cosi adaptor from Europe instead of the big Garco adaptor.

Why Bugaboo Bee?
It took us quite a while to decide on Bugaboo Bee as there are many awesome strollers in the market like Bugaboo frog, UppaBaby Vista, Orbit and Baby Jogger City Select. To us, we think simple operation, light weight, and add-on-child flexibility are our top three concerns. If a stroller give us tons of features but hard to close/open or heavy to lift, we don't think we will want to use it everyday. Bee meets our needs with its one-hand fold feature, light weight(17lb vs 28lb ave.) and seat adjustment feature. With an add-on seat or wheel board, it could save us from buying a two-seat stroller later on the road.

We know the seat weight capacity of the Bee is not as much as others (37.5lb vs 50lb), but does this drawback outweigh all other factors? Well, won't the toddler want to be free from the mobile jail at age 3? If the kid got tired, just stop for a break and have a cookie.

We buy the 09 model because we like the bigger canopy to keep the hot Texas sun away and the wings of the seat to keep cups and toys fall off; Whereas, the new Bee Plus is easy to change seat-facing direction, smaller canopy, additional height adjustment, and new design on the wheels grids for the breaks to clip on.

All these new features are good, but it doesn't justify the cost of paying extra two hundreds. A hundred dollar price raise and another hundred dollar discount on the 09 model. Seriously, how often you will change the seat-facing direction? Not alot. How tall you child could be with the maximum weight capability of 37.5lb? Thus can't the toddler use the stroller without the canopy cover? With same two year warranty on both models, brake issue shouldn't be a problem.

We got a brand new bee instead of a floor model because we don't want a beat up stroller for an extra 10% discount ($60) and end up putting four hundred dollars down the drain. Hunting good deal is important, but buying a safe and germs-free baby product is number one essential.

That's how we choose our stroller, hope you could find one that make you feel good.

中式|糕: 椰汁年糕 Chinese Sweet Cake

[2010 2月新年] 前兩星期新年, 眾多年糕中我首先試做最愛嘅椰汁年糕.
材料:
糖, 400g (白糖或紅糖)
水, 520g
糯米粉, 200g
澄麵, 160g
椰汁, 80g
油, 60g
色素 或 紅蔔白汁 少許

用器:
鑊/大鍋
蒸架/蒸籠
糕盆

做法:
1) 將糖、水 煮溶, 特凍.
2) 除色素外, 所有材料加入凍糖水中攪勻. 攪好後, 留起1碗粉漿水加入色素.
3) 用少許油掃糕盆, 加入少許有色粉漿水在魚頭、身、尾, 大火隔水蒸2-3分钟.
4) 再加入無色粉漿水, 蒸30分鈡, 至竹插入不黏為熟.

Tips:
*蒸有色粉漿水時不要蒸太熟, 以免和無色粉漿水難以結合.

中式|餐: 粟米魚塊、XO醬蒸玉子豆腐、蒸排骨

[2009/3/4] 今日有粟米魚塊、XO醬蒸玉子豆腐、蒸排骨

材料: 粟米蓉、蒜片、薑片、魚塊 、西蘭花
調味料: 鹽、胡椒粉
做法:
1) 西蘭花用熱水加少許油、鹽煮熟.
2) 魚塊用鹽、胡椒粉調味.
3) 熱鑊後加油, 炸占有粟粉嘅魚塊 .
4) 另一鑊加少少油,爆香蒜片、薑片, 掉去. 放入粟米蓉加少許鹽. 加炸好嘅魚塊略煮即可.


材料: 玉子豆腐 、支麻
調味料: 豉油 、XO醬、蠔油、醋、麻油
做法:
1) 玉子豆腐切厚片, 吸去多餘水份, 隔水蒸熱.
2) 熱鑊後加少少麻油, 爆香XO醬, 再加其餘調味料.
3) 玉子豆腐蒸熱后加調味汁上面.


材料: 排骨
調味料: 鹽、 糖、豉油 、胡椒粉 、酒 、蒜蓉、豆鼓、薑蓉
做法:
1) 排骨吸去多餘水份, 加調味料後等15mins才蒸.

西式|糕: 給哥哥嫂嫂嘅1週年朱古力蛋糕 Chocolate Cake

給哥哥嫂嫂結緍1週年記念嘅兩層朱古力蛋糕. 我係用Mathra Strewart Chocolate Cake Mix, 初嘗試用pre-mixed嘅粉同做朱古力面咋, 所以不太平均.

做給哥哥嘅生日大餐: 煎帶子沙津、羅宋湯、黑椒汁牛扒伴飯.
 

Good Deals: Costco Seville Tower Fan

Yesterday, we went to Costco and saw a $29.99 Slim Tower Fan with remote . It's huge a good deal that we could not pass. We bought it home and test it side by side with our $50 Lasko Tower Fan. It's absolutely slimmer and take up less room than the Lasko. Both of them have similar functions and settings. The #1 breeze setting of Lasko is very quiet and light; Whereas the Seville is a bite loud and stronger like the #2 setting of Lasko. If you place it in a small bedroom, the breeze may be too strong, but it will be fine for a bigger room.

中式|餐: 蠔油雞翼 Chicken Wings in Oyster Sauce


[2009/2/28] 今日本應係飯人煮拿手好菜蠔油雞翼, 但見佢有工事做, 就自己煮.當然佢煮好食D啦! Honey煮俾我食喎.

材料: 雞翼、蒜頭、薑片、蠔油、葱
調味料: 鹽、 糖、豉油 、胡椒粉 、酒

做法:
1) 將蒜頭切片或蓉.
2) 熱鑊後加油, 爆香薑片, 下雞翼煎一會, 再加蒜頭炒勻, 再煮一會. 灒少許洒, 不繼炒勻雞翼至汁收濃.
3) 關火焗~10min, 就不怕雞骨有血.
4) 下葱, 即可.

中式|餐: 豉椒炒蜆 Stir-Fried Clams in Chili & Black Bean Sauce

[2009/2/28] 今日用餘下一半嘅蜆初嘗試做豉椒炒蜆, 蜆肉不大但個汁幾好味.

材料: 蜆、頭豉、蒜頭、薑片、子天椒1隻
調味料: 鹽 、豉油 、蠔油(少少提甜味) 、粟粉水, 適量
用器: 不銹鋼鑊/大鍋
做法:
1) 請依前文洗蜆方法.
2) 將頭豉,蒜頭一齊切成蓉.
3) 熱鑊後加油, 爆香薑片, 再加蒜頭頭豉蓉略爆, 加入蜆大火炒勻.灒少許洒, 再下調味料和子天椒炒勻. 加蓋.
4) 當見大部份蜆開口, 下粟粉水煮至汁收濃.
5) 放芫茜椒絲伴碟.

中式|糕: 五香芋頭糕 Chinese Taro Cake


[2009 2月新年] 香芋頭糕, 我參照了香港KittyChoi大師食譜試做. 今次乖乖, 材料無加無減, 佼果非常滿意, 好味!

材料:
芋頭, 640g
粘米粉, 400g
澄麵, 80g
蒜頭, 1粒 (拍吓就ok!)
臘腸, 2條
冬茹, 4粒
蝦米, 40g
水, 4杯
水, 2杯
芝麻, 少許

調味料:
五香粉, 1tsp
糖, 1.5 tsp
胡椒粉, 1tsp
鹽, 1 Tbsp
麻油, 1 tsp

用器:
鑊/大鍋
蒸架/蒸籠
糕盆 (可用pie/cake盆, 蘿蔔粉漿分兩份蒸)

做法:
1) 將臘腸熱水沖洗油味, 切粒; 冬茹和蝦米, 浸軟後切粒, 芋頭切丁粒.
2) 熱鑊後加1Tbsp油, 爆香蒜頭後棄去. 倒入切粒雜料爆香, 再加調味料及芋頭丁粒炒.盛起備用.
3) 將2杯凍水開粉成漿粉水.
4) 將4杯水煮熱, 熄火. 將漿粉水撞入熱水, 邊撞邊攪成杰糊.
5) 加炒好材料粒入杰糊, 成芋頭糕漿.
5) 用少許油掃糕盆, 加入芋頭糕漿, 用手壓平, 加芝麻上面.
6) 大火隔水蒸1小時, 至筷子插入芋頭糕不黏為熟.

Tips:
*千萬不可不加五香粉!

中式|糕: 蘿蔔糕 Chinese Turnip Cake


[2009 2月新年] 前兩星期新年, 我參照了99年2月方太新世界食譜試做蘿蔔糕. 材料有加有減, 但粉和蘿蔔份量不變, 佼果不錯, 好味!

材料:
蘿蔔, 605g
粘米粉, 190g
乾葱蓉, 2粒 (shallot 呀!)
葱粒, 3Tbsp
臘腸, 3條
冬茹, 3大粒
蝦米, 3Tbsp
瑤柱, 5粒 (用1杯水浸, 留浸瑤柱水)
芝麻, 少許

調味料:
鹽, 1 tsp
胡椒粉, 少許
水, 適量 (或用蘿蔔汁)

用器:
鑊/大鍋
蒸架/蒸籠
糕盆 (可用pie/cake盆, 蘿蔔粉漿分兩份蒸)

做法:
1) 將臘腸熱水沖洗油味, 切粒; 冬茹和蝦米, 浸軟後切粒; 瑤柱, 浸軟後撕成絲.
2) 留浸瑤柱水1杯及少許瑤柱絲備用.
2) 蘿蔔洗淨浚刨粗絲, 備用.
3) 熱鑊後加1Tbsp油, 爆香乾葱蓉, 再加蘿蔔絲略炒一會, 加瑤柱水和調味料, 煮至蘿蔔軟身.
4) 將鑊離火, 加粘米粉, 攪成半生熟粉漿; 再加入肉料, 攪成蘿蔔粉漿.
5) 用少許油掃糕盆, 加入蘿蔔粉漿, 用手壓平, 加瑤柱絲及芝麻上面.
6) 大火隔水蒸1小時, 至筷子插入蘿蔔糕不黏為熟.

Tips:
*媽媽話做蘿蔔糕要加糖, 但我無再試!
